SPIVSA Framework for Strategic Planning

This paper provides a realistic and easy-to-understand approach for strategic planning by suggesting a six-step process: Scan, Purpose, Inspiration, Values, Strategy, and Aims. The acronym SPIVSA is formed from the first letters of these steps. The framework is based on a system approach and enables strategists to carry out strategic planning sequentially, resulting in the development of the right strategic path for any organization. The framework addresses the gap in understanding that stems from the prevalence of non-standardized and confused strategic planning concepts in current literature and practice. This paper introduces a practical and easy-to-understand strategic planning process that strategy consultants, senior managers, and organizational leaders can use for their clients and their own organizations. The proposed step-by-step SPIVSA Framework provides clarity and structure for effective strategy development, bridging the gap between theoretical concepts and practical implementation.
