Abstract

This research proposes a two-way digital governance mechanism for smart villages in India to achieve Atma Nirbhar Bharat (self-reliant economy). As of 2018, India has 649,481 census villages, with 60% of the population residing in rural areas. The paper addresses the trust deficit between government and citizens by introducing an interactive digital dashboard that enables real-time communication, transparent status reporting, and citizen feedback on elected representatives' performance. The proposed system utilizes geo-spatial technology and interactive Python dashboards to monitor smart village development across agriculture, health, education, and employment sectors, fostering greater accountability and accelerating rural development.
