Abstract
A key challenge for sustainable intensification of agriculture is to produce increasing amounts of food with minimal mineral fertilizers usage. This study evaluated the response of sugar beet yield and quality to foliar application of plant growth regulators (gibberellic acid and proline) with two boron sources (B-NPs and boric acid), reducing mineral fertilizers to 75% of recommended dose. Field experiments on sugar beet plants showed that gibberellin at 100 mg/L and proline at 200 mg/L were most effective, with B-NPs outperforming boric acid. The combination of 75% macronutrients, proline at 200 mg/L, and B-NPs provided optimal results for yield and quality parameters.
