Population and Spatial Analysis of Fire Service Provision in Gombe Town

This research examines fire service provision in Gombe Town through spatial analysis and demographic study. The study identified fire station locations, analyzed fire incident rates from January to April 2019 across various wards, and assessed property losses and saved valuables. Results reveal that Gombe Town is severely undersupplied with fire stations, personnel, fire trucks, and modern equipment relative to its growing population of 410,219 (projected 2019). Chi-Square analysis showed significant differences in fire frequencies and property losses among wards, with Garko Ward experiencing the highest incidence rates. The study recommends immediate government and philanthropic intervention to expand fire service infrastructure and personnel to meet international standards.
