Abstract

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) decompensation represents a significant public health challenge requiring innovative management strategies. Home ventilation has emerged as a critical therapeutic intervention for terminal-stage COPD patients, improving quality of life and reducing healthcare costs. This case study demonstrates the clinical application of respiratory rehabilitation and home ventilation equipment in managing a 54-year-old COPD patient with respiratory failure secondary to pulmonary infection. The integration of multidisciplinary care, respiratory rehabilitation, and appropriate home-based ventilation equipment offers improved outcomes and enhanced patient quality of life. Greater awareness and organization of ventilation equipment availability is essential to optimize care for this patient population.
