Abstract
This study examines how Indian automotive firms compete with foreign brands in a rapidly evolving market characterized by technological innovation, shifting consumer preferences, and policy interventions. Using secondary data from 2020–2025, the research highlights Indian OEMs' strengths in cost leadership, localization, and EV adoption, while foreign brands leverage safety, design, and premium features. Findings reveal SUV and EV portfolios as critical growth drivers, increasing rural penetration, and strategic use of government incentives. The study underscores the importance of policy alignment, infrastructure development, and consumer-centric strategies in sustaining competitive advantage in India's dynamic automotive sector.
