Abstract
This study explores factors contributing to cybersecurity adoption behavior in Singapore's SMEs through an organizational behavior lens. Leveraging empirical literature and a case study of eight different industries, semi-structured interviews with senior executives and managers were conducted and analyzed using NVivo. The research identifies key themes including leadership, organizational culture, change management, communication, and decision-making as critical factors influencing employee perception and adoption of cybersecurity practices. Despite organizational investments in cybersecurity tools and training, employees continue to face challenges in adhering to best practices. This research addresses the gap in cybersecurity adoption literature specific to Singapore's context and contributes to understanding how organizational behavior theories can be effectively applied to enhance cybersecurity implementation in SMEs.
