Abstract
This study examines the trend of annual diaspora remittances flows into Zimbabwe from 2009 to June 2020, and monthly flows from January 2018 to July 2020. The research reveals significant variability in remittances, with a peak of US$935 million in 2015 followed by a notable decline through 2018. The study finds that diaspora remittances are unstable and do not correlate directly with migration volumes. Key recommendations include increased diaspora engagement, improved investment climate, socio-political reforms, and loosened remittance channels to strengthen diaspora contributions to national development.
