Effects of Parent Participation in Academic Performance of Grade 5 Learners at Taytay Elementary School

This paper explores the significant effects of parental involvement on academic performance of elementary grade students, specifically Grade 5 learners at Taytay Elementary School. Through a comprehensive review of related literature and studies, the research identifies key indicators that influence parental participation, including parents' economic status, educational attainment, and personal background. Findings demonstrate a positive relationship between high parental involvement and increased academic achievement. The study emphasizes that schools must foster diverse strategies to accommodate parents' individual differences and strengthen school-and-home relationships. Results indicate that parents with high expectations and aspirations for their children show greater involvement in school-led and home-based activities. The paper recommends that school administrators, leaders, and teachers create harmonious relationships between home and school to enable learners to attain their maximum potential and achieve effective, efficient, and lifelong learning.
