Architectural Design Studio Revisited: Rethinking the Dynamics of Design Studio Space

The architecture design studio is more than a classroom—it is a creative home where students collaborate, interact, and innovate. This paper examines how proper circulation patterns, studio culture, and environmental psychology contribute to productive design education. Through analysis of physical, social, and psychological environments, the study proposes ideal organizational zones and layout patterns that promote interaction, creativity, and learning outcomes. Two design studio configurations are presented as models for 21st-century architectural education, emphasizing the importance of flexible spaces, designated zones for different activities, and holistic environmental design in fostering excellence in architectural pedagogy.
