Abstract

This study investigates awareness levels of European football clubs among Indian populations in four major cities: Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, and Bangalore. The research employs a mixed-methods approach combining conclusive and exploratory research methodologies. Using questionnaire-based data collection from 204 respondents and statistical analysis via Chi-Square tests, Friedman tests, and reliability analysis, the study reveals that 83.73% of respondents are aware of European football clubs. FC Barcelona emerges as the most preferred club, followed by Real Madrid and Manchester United. Key findings indicate that winning ratios, advertising campaigns, and player popularity significantly impact club awareness. The research demonstrates that younger demographics (14-24 years) exhibit greater football interest, with males showing substantially higher engagement than females. The study provides valuable insights for European football clubs seeking to expand their market presence in India.
