Abstract

Identification of risk factors is an important step in project success. This study identifies and classifies risk factors in water and wastewater projects in KPK through literature review and questionnaire analysis. Twenty risk factors were identified and distributed among key construction parties including contractors, consultants, clients, subcontractors, and government bodies. Statistical analysis using reliability tests, normality tests, and relative importance index on 96 responses revealed the top five risk factors: cost overrun, political risks, time overrun, corruption, and availability of finances. These findings provide essential insights for risk management in water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
